Dwight L. MacPherson is a winner of the 2021 Poe Society of Baltimore's Saturday 'Visiter' Award, and a nominee for the comic industry's Harvey and Eagle Award in 2008. He is a prolific writer, editor, and publisher with published work at DC Comics, Image, IDW Publishing, Slave Labor Graphics, SelfMadeHero, Arcana Comics, and several others. He is also credited on IMDb for penning the screenplays to the Howard Lovecraft animated trilogy. MacPherson and his wife, Rebecca, founded Hocus Pocus Comics in January 2017 on Edgar Allan Poe's 208th Birthday.

Born in Michigan and raised in Florida, MacPherson served 14 years in the Army as a combat medic and traveled the world before pursuing a career writing, editing, and publishing comic books and screenplays. He currently resides in a historic farmhouse in Florida with his wife and their French Bulldog named Pip Copperpot MacPherson, Esq.
